Confederate Goals

The Confederacy only had one goal throughout the entire war. That goal was to declare themselves an independent country. Unlike the North they did not have to invade, they needed to defend their homeland. They hoped that by fighting long enough the North would realize that the war was too expensive and not worth what prices it came with.
