Another great of from the Confederacy who helped win many important battles for the Confederates is “Stonewall” Jackson. He got the nickname “Stonewall” when he reinforced the South at the First Battle of Bull Run and held like a “stonewall”. His real name is Thomas Jonathan Jackson. At the Battle of Chancellorsville one of his own men accidentally shot him in the arm. His arm was amputated, but he died of pneumonia eight days later. His death was a great loss towards the Confederacy.
