Robert E. Lee

General Lee is known to be one of the best Civil War generals of all time. He helped the South win many important battles. Some of his victories are Seven Days’, Second Battle of Bull Run, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville. There were other Confederate victories, but these were the key ones. Lee tried to invade the North at the Battle of Antietam, but failed and retreated to Virginia. He was forced to surrender at Appomattox Court House which was the end of the war.
